Everybodt has a favorite bait but as a natural food and being readily available to me I like beaver meat . You will find that a tainted beaver has a fairly sweet smell to it . And yes as the grass starts to turn green then anything sweet goes in the pot ,bonuts,bread,twinkies ,grains smothered in frier grease topped with sugar, mollasses with sugar added,kool-aid,you name it ,syrups ,jam and the list goes on and on .

tried dog food, dry, oiled up, sweetened up, they always leave that for last. BUT someone elses bear may think the stuff is real special.
Blackbear, we've used anise extract, what is Anise paste? Is that a homemade concoction?
