Hey I'm sure there are lots of others...but the poll only allows 8.

My vote would have to be the 7mm rem mag. for best all round calibre. I have used it on whiteails, caribou and moose.
It'd get my vote as all around is because (with the exception of the big bears (browns, polar) it will do it all and it's a very shootable cartridge with respect to recoil.

In the right hands all these guns will do the trick ,but as a novice bear hunter I don't prefer anything less than a 30-06 . however it will be the hunters choice and HE WILL be on the search for a wounded bear leaving the site . ;D

Well I picked the 270 because I have one LOL.,.
I will use my 45/70 for a bear hunt.. Is this a good bear gun?
I really like my 12 gage for my home hunting but, thats second to my bow.

For a baited bear hunt ( with the proper set up) your 45/70 will work splendidly !

I'm in with my .270 for bear and deer. I will only take a shot I am 110% sure of and so far have only failed once with the .270 and it wasn't the guns fault. Shot placement being the key, I wouldn't want a good shooter...or even a poor shooter aiming my way with any of these, and a whole bunch more calibers...lol
KPR ;D
