Well guys I'm off to hunt hogs down in Texas in a couple weeks. My Christmas present this year was a .450 Marlin 1895M and I'll be joining a bunch of other crazy lever enthusiasts on the hunt. I've been primarily bowhunting for quite a long time but I must say there's nothing quite like a new gun with a purpose. This one I hope is destined to hunt moose. We'll try it first on hogs and then hopefully black bear.

Sounds like a great hunt. I havent had a chance to hunt hogs yet. We do not have a season here...but a strange thing has happened here. It seems some hogs got off a game farm at the same time some domestic pigs got away from the farm. They hearded up together about three years ago. Now they are becoming a problem to some folks who live back in. They have asked us to come and take down the herd. Since there is no season...and it does not say you can't hunt hogs in Penna....We are gonna help out during the deer season. So I guess I will be hog hunting this fall. I to am a lever gun fan...Savage 99 .308, Savage 99 .300, and Mossburg 30-30
